The Sacred and Strategic Initiative was born from a deeply personal journey. While living overseas, our team engaged in an 18-month developmental journey. Guided by a cohort of seasoned executive leaders specializing in relational and organizational health, the transformative program served as a pivotal turning point, marking a clear ‘before and after’ in both our personal and professional lives.
Underscoring the integral link between personal growth and professional excellence, we were given a vision for how we wanted to live and lead that has remained our North Star for the last 22 years. Without the investment of those leaders—and the donors who made it possible—our story would have looked very different.
In 2019, when Kourtney stepped into an executive ministry role and faced the challenge of scaling her leadership, she sought additional training. The two high-quality programs that she most wanted to participate in required an entry-level salary requirement far beyond what ministry leaders typically earn.
Amid the pressure of growing responsibilities, a gifted executive coach offered guidance at a deeply reduced rate. Intersecting with her was a turning point.
It was then that we saw a clear need: leaders devoted to service often lack access to the very tools that could multiply their impact. Coaching and consulting programs are frequently priced out of reach for ministry and nonprofit leaders.
The Sacred and Strategic Initiative is our response—a commitment to bridge that gap. We provide high-caliber executive coaching, spiritual direction, and strategic advisory services to individuals, couples, and teams regardless of financial barriers. With decades of global experience and a shared heart for service, we help leaders align soul and strategy for lasting impact.

Rich’s leadership journey began as a military kid, shaped by frequent moves and international living during his formative years. This early exposure sparked a lifelong passion for cross-cultural understanding and strategic leadership. Over the decades with Cru, he pioneered global digital strategies across 40+ countries, building expertise in strategic planning, conflict resolution, leadership development, fundraising, and executive coaching.
Known for his innovative foresight, loyalty, and trustworthiness, Rich excels at building consensus across diverse teams. His strategic, resourceful leadership consistently integrates cultural complexity into unified, high-impact solutions.
Today, Rich leverages his global experience to provide strategic advising, executive coaching, and soul care to leaders and their teams worldwide. Those he coaches achieve success in their ministry endeavors while prioritizing relational health and sustainability—a hallmark of his approach to aligning soul and strategy for lasting impact.

Kourtney’s passion lies at the intersection of the soul and goal lines. With over 25 years of global service in complex operational roles, she understands that emotionally healthy leadership is the cornerstone of successful organizations with thriving cultures. She is passionate about leaders owning their growth and believes that we cannot lead people places we are not going ourselves.
Kourtney understands the complexities of balancing a significant career with the demands of marriage and family life, bringing a unique empathy and perspective to her coaching. She was the Director of Operations for Cru’s National Staff Training, a demanding two-month event, managing intricate logistics while cultivating a productive environment. As Vice President of Culture and Communications for FamilyLife, a division of Cru, she solidified her commitment to building healthy organizational cultures, believing that high-performing individuals and their organizations can achieve their goals while fostering environments where team members thrive.
Kourtney serves as an executive coach specializing in soul-line and goal-line coaching. She provides strategic coaching and soul care to global leaders, their organizations, and their families. Her experience equips her to guide individuals and teams toward holistic well-being and impactful performance. She loves supporting leaders serving in high-pressure environments and currently serves as the chaplain for the Orlando Pride NWSL team.
